    Rhythm Games – Part 1

    As a sight-reader of rhythms, once you have a handle on pulse, note values, and subdividing, there’s really no such thing as “too easy” or “too hard”. There’s just “too slow” (boring and pointless), “too fast” (frustrating and impossible), and “just right” (challenging, fun, and slightly faster than comfortable). Setting a “just right” tempo is the key to ensuring that sight-reading rhythms is an exciting and worthwhile game! Watch me “crash and burn” as I push myself to the limit in this video: Rhythm games can be fun and challenging tools to improve musicianship, but setting the right kind of tempo is essential.
